WEST YARMOUTH- David Christopher Josie, 68 years of age, passed away at the Beth Israel Deaconess Center in Boston on Sunday, March 19, 2017 after an illness of two months. He was born in Boston and attended Hyde Park High School and Northeastern. He lived in Brockton before moving to Yarmouth 30 years ago. He was a truck driver for the Teamsters Union. David owned the Term Life Insurance Agency of Dennis for the last 20 years. He attended flight school and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. David loved to dance and to work on cars. He is the beloved husband of Bonnie E. (Kirk) Sherlock-Josie to whom he has been married to since 2000. David was the devoted father of Davina Gilligan married to Doug of Taunton and Daryl Josie of Norton. He is the step-father to Bonnie Benvissuto married to Paul of Mansfield, Kelly Violette of Braintree, Julie Sherlock of Mansfield, and the late Keri Sherlock. David was the brother of Ross D. Josie married to Ann of Walpole and Ellen Marie Sanchez married to Armando of Cohasset. He was the brother of the late Georgine McLean formerly of Boston. David was the proud grandfather to Nicholas Josie, Matthew Violette, Sean Benvissuto, Jack Benvissuto, and Aidan Sherlock. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
