BRAINTREE, Michael F. Burke, 64, of Braintree, passed away peacefully with family at his bedside, after a two year battle with cancer, on Friday December 22, 2017. Mike was born in Boston and attended Xaverian High School. He was an entrepreneur and a semi-pro golfer. He was a big fan of professional greyhound racing. He also enjoyed wintering in Florida and ultimately lived many years in Orlando. He was known as “Mr. Big” for his ability to drive a golf ball. He loved playing at the Bay Hill Golf Course, which is Arnold Palmer’s golf course. He began his passion at a number of South Shore golf courses. Michael is pre-deceased by his father Francis Burke and his mother Rosemay (Joyce) Logan and is survived by his father Francis Logan. He also leaves behind his beloved brothers, Stephen and his wife Nancy, of Braintree, David and his wife Joan of Easton, and Paul and his wife Tara, of Falmouth. He leaves behind his beloved sisters, Michelle and her husband Stephen DeLuca, of Dorchester and Barbara and her husband Brian McCann of Cohasset, as well as 14 nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Homes, at 516 Washington Street in Braintree, MA, on Thursday December 28th, between 4 and 8 pm. A funeral service will be held during the visiting hours at 6 PM to 7 Pm on that day. Burial will be private.
