BRAINTREE- Robert J. Fleming, 85 years of age, entered Eternal Life at the John Adams Nursing and Healthcare Center in Quincy on Saturday, February 11, 2017. He was born in Quincy and subsequently moved to Jamestown, R.I. where he then graduated from the De LaSalle Academy in Newport, R.I. He was referred to as one of the Jamestown Ferry Kids commuting to school each day on the Jamestown ferry. Robert also attended Stonehill College in Easton. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the US Air Force overseas for more than 3 years. Robert worked as a Chemical Control Operator at the Boston Edison Company and had been retired since 1994. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary F. (McCue) Fleming and by six loving children; Francis King, Robert Fleming married to Jodi Fleming, Ann Marie Warner married to Stephen Warner and Mary Ellen Fleming all of Braintree, Daniel Fleming married to Paula Fleming of Dayton, OH and John Fleming of Pembroke. He is survived by 8 loving grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Robert was the brother of the late William Fleming and the son of the late John W. Fleming and Mary E.(O’Hara) Fleming. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Thursday, February 16th at 9:00am to be followed by a Funeral Mass at the Church of St. Thomas More, corner of Elm and Hawthorn Road, Braintree at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Memorial donations in Robert’s memory may be sent to St. Anthony’s Guild, 135 W 31st St, New York, NY 10001.
