PLYMOUTH- Phyllis Sarah (Gray) Elliott, 82 years of age, passed away at her home in the presence of her loving family on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. She was born in Boston and was a graduate of Boston Schools. She was extremely proud of the fact that she had been the captain of her high school volleyball team. After her marriage to her childhood sweetheart, Walter A. Elliott, she settled in Dorchester. Phyllis had been employed as a bank adjustor for the Shawmut Bank in Boston, retiring in 1971. In 1976, after her home was destroyed by fire, she moved to Weymouth. She secured several part-time jobs after retiring from the bank. However, the job she enjoyed the most was one she received no pay for, which was taking care of her grandchildren. She enjoyed shopping and attending antique auctions as well as gardening. Phyllis was the wife of the late Walter A. Elliott to whom she had been married to for 50 years before he passed away in 2003. She is the loving mother of six children; Donna Mulqueen married to Jerry of Jacksonville, FL, Walter A. Elliott Jr. married to Elaine of Malden, Stephen Elliott married to Marie of Middleboro, Joseph Elliott married to Geraldine of South Weymouth, Mark Elliott married to Debbie of North Weymouth, and Phyllis Cicchetti married to Richard of Plymouth, with whom she had made her home for the last 27 years. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Phyllis is also survived by her brother Joseph Gray of South Weymouth. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Sunday, March 26th from 2-5pm. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 27th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Memorial donations in Phyllis’ memory may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
