SOUTH BOSTON- Doris Catherine McDonald, 90 years of age, passed away at the Harbor House in Hingham on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Doris was born and raised in South Boston where she graduated from South Boston High school. She had worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Company. She later worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in Boston prior to her retirement. Doris had lived in South Boston for 70 years. She was a member of the South Boston Historical Society and the Castle Island Friends Association. She also belonged to the South Boston Garden Club.  Doris enjoyed traveling the world. She had visited Aruba, Hawaii, Greece, Italy, and several other destinations. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Anne T. (Mansfield) McDonald. She was the sister of the late Mary F. Keating formerly of Weymouth. She is survived by two nieces Maureen F. MacDonald married to Craig of Hanover, Janet K. Santoro married to Stephen of Beaufort, S.C., and a nephew John V. Keating of Quincy. She is also survived by many grand-nieces and grand-nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.  A visiting hour will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Friday, April 21st at 8:00am to be followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Thomas More on Hawthorn Road Braintree at 9:00am. Burial will be private in Boston. Memorial donations in Doris’ memory may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
