WEYMOUTH- Arlene V. (Newcomb) Petrelli, 89 years of age, passed away at Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was born in Braintree where she remained until she was 11 years old. With her family, she then moved to Weymouth where she attended the Weymouth Hunt School. After her marriage to Francis D. Petrelli Sr., she moved to Quincy for many years. Arlene then moved back to her family home in Weymouth 12 years ago. She was a homemaker and very devoted to her family. She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary in Abington. She was the devoted wife of the late Francis D. Petrelli Sr. who passed away in 2004. Arlene is the loving mother of Francis D. Petrelli Jr. married to Kathleen of Braintree, Edward A. Petrelli married to Katherine Grant-Petrelli of Hull, and David R. Petrelli married to Elaine of Weymouth. She was the caring grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Arlene was the grandmother of the late Jarrod Petrelli, FBI Special Agent who passed away in 2012. She was the predeceased by her 8 siblings; Ernest B. Newcomb, Jr., George C. Newcomb, Harold Newcomb, Edward A. Newcomb, Irving A. Newcomb, Dorothy Jones, Barbara Demeter, and Sarah B. Newcomb. Visiting hours for Arlene will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Monday, February 20th from 4-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 21st at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Memorial donations in Arlene’s memory may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
