On Monday, August 5, 2024, Walter J. Gleason, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 88 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Walter was born on June 12, 1936, in Winthrop, MA, to John B. Gleason and Helen (Schneider) Gleason. After Helen passed in childbirth, Mary Gleason lovingly raised Dad. He was a high school math teacher for five years in Milton, MA, and a math professor at Bridgewater State College (University) for fifty years. On June 11, 1960, he married Nancy A. Cardinal at St. Brigid's Church in South Boston. They raised three sons, Stephen, Brian, and Gary. Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy. He is survived by his three sons, Stephen, Brian, and Gary, his daughter-in-law, Marisela, and his grandchildren, Nicholas and Isabella. We are having a small service for him at the grave site. Anyone interested in attending should arrive at the Blue Hill Cemetery offices this Thursday, August 8, between 10:30 and 10:45 am to line up for a procession into the cemetery.
