Valerie (Val) Fiedor Obituary

Valerie "Val" Fiedor, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 12, 2024, after a courageous 9 year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born on August 11, 1962, in Milton, MA, Val was a lifelong resident of Massachusetts, spending her years in the Braintree community.

Val was the cherished daughter of Diane (Leben) Williams and the late Kenneth Williams Sr. She found her soulmate in Mark Fiedor, whom she married in 1990 at Christ Church in Quincy after a romantic year and a half of courtship. Together, they welcomed their first child six years later and built a loving family that included their children Gabrielle, Skyler, and Austin Fiedor.

Val was the beloved sister to David and Cheri Williams of Norton, Paul and Laurie Williams of Apex, North Carolina, and was predeceased by her brothers Kenneth Williams Jr. of Braintree and Mark Williams, leaving behind his wife Rhonda. Her life was further enriched by the joy of many loving nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

A proud graduate of Braintree High School's class of 1980, Val continued her education at Northeastern University, where she earned her nursing degree in 1984. Her professional journey as a nurse spanned over three decades at the Boston Visiting Nurses, where she dedicated her life to caring for others with an unwavering commitment and a gentle touch.

Val had many different skills and interests throughout her life. She was an accomplished seamstress, often making her own clothes during her school years. Her love for music and dance was infectious, and she cherished moments spent dancing with her family. She was also a four-time state champion baton twirler. Val's love for the outdoors was evident in her fondness for walks in Webb State Park and her serene days spent by the ocean, a testament to her appreciation for nature's beauty.

A devoted member of the Boston Church of Christ for over 40 years, Val's faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her service as a youth minister for seven years was a reflection of her passion for guiding and nurturing young lives, a role she embraced wholeheartedly.

Val's mother, Diane, was not just a parent but also her best friend, alongside her husband, Mark. Her innate ability to care for everyone around her was a gift that she generously shared, always reminding others of their beauty and worth. Val's legacy is one of a deeply caring woman, whose loving, spirited, and selfless nature touched the hearts of everyone she met.

As we bid farewell to Val, we celebrate a life lived with boundless love and an unwavering dedication to the wellbeing of others. Her spirit, characterized by the warmth of her smile and the kindness of her actions, will forever be remembered and cherished by those who knew her.

Valerie Fiedor's life was a testament to the power of love and the impact one person can have on the world around them. She will be deeply missed, but her example will continue to inspire and guide us. Her memory will be held in our hearts as a reminder of the beauty and grace she brought into our lives.

A Celebration of Life for Valerie will be held on Sunday,  August 18 at 5:00 P.M. at Christ Church, 12 Quincy Ave. in Quincy, MA 02169.
