Susan Jean (Lewandowski) Burrel, known to many as Sue, passed away in North Adams, Massachusetts on July 5th, 2025. Born on March 2nd, 1965, in Quincy, Massachusetts. Sue attended Weymouth High School in Weymouth, Massachusetts. She also attended Quincy College for a period of her life. Sue was a supportive mother and friend. She lived most of her life in Weymouth, Massachusetts where she built a foundation surrounded by close-friends. Later in life she moved to North Adams where she spent her last years. In her younger years, Sue was passionate about poetry and writing. She wrote many poems that were kept personal. Sue was a simple woman and kept herself committed to living a thoughtful life. Sue is survived by her two daughters Meaghan (Peters), and Leslie Himelrick; her only son Joseph Lewandowski; her mother Sandra (Robinson) Hawes; her four granddaughters Evelyn Peters, Olivia and Mila Lewandowski, and Paisley Kanthoul; her son-in-law Matthew Peters and her daughter-in-law Filomena (Lewandowski) Salas Reina. Sue is preceded in death by his late husband, Michael Lewandowski, who passed away in May 2026. Sue and Michael remained close throughout their last years and co-parent their only son Joseph Michael Lewandowski. She is also preceded in death by her father, Herbert Leslie Burrell Jr.; her grandparents, Herbert Leslie Burrell and Gladys Lillian Diersch; her aunt, Laura May Burrell; her uncle, Robert Henry Burrell; and her stepfather, Wayne Robinson.
