BRAINTREE - Monroe, Ruth H. peacefully passed away at the age of 100 at John Scott House in Braintree. She was born on February 3,1920 in Boston, MA. Ruth was the daughter of Wilburn F. and Anne B. (Scott) Wynot. Ruth was the wife of the late Alfred F. Monroe, loving mother to Scott W. Monroe and his wife Barbara and Gail F. Sargent and her husband Theodore. Ruth was a devoted Nana to David Monroe, James Monroe, Bethany Monroe, Deborah Crawford and Pamela Solis, Ruth leaves great-grandchildren: Anthony Carlino, Nicklas Carlino, Elan Solis, Evangelina Solis, Parker Monroe, Ayma Monroe and Avery Monroe.
Ruth grew up in Braintree. Later Ruth and Al built a vacation and retirement home in Harwichport, MA. The family and friends had many fun gatherings and enjoyed different holidays at Wah Wah Taysee Rd., Harwichport.
Ruth loved spending time socializing with family and friends, laying on the beach with neighbors and family, growing and tending flowers, decorating the inside and outside of the house and keeping the house clean and orderly. Like her mother, Ruth was an excellent cook. Ruth was one of a kind, full of life, and loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Ruth volunteered with “Road to Recovery”, Harwich Garden Club and Braintree Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star. Both Ruth and Al were members of Allen’s Harbor Yacht Club and Pilgrim Congregational Church.
A private family service is being planned. The family will have a celebration of Ruth’s life at a later time.
