Robert Fraser Obituary

Fraser, Robert L. of Braintree passed away peacefully at South Shore Hospital at age 84. Loving husband of Gail (Palmer) for over 53 years. Son of the late Laurence and Kathleen (Emery). Devoted father of Robert Jr and his wife Gail of Marshfield, and John and his wife Marilyn of Carver. Cherished brother of Ronald Fraser and his wife Julie of Weymouth. Loving Papa/Grampy of grandchildren Matthew, Michael, Brandon, Breyanna, Krissy and Noah. Great-grandchildren Brooke and Finley. Also survived by a nephew.

Bob lived in South Weymouth for most of his life and attended Weymouth Schools. For many years, he worked in the maintenance department at Braintree High School and Blue Hills Regional High School in Canton Mass. He retired in 2000 from Blue Hills. After retiring he enjoyed volunteering at the Braintree Community Youth Center.

Bob was a member of The Sons of Italy men's Lodge in Braintree for 53 years . He was a member of the R.O.M.E.O Club (Retired old men eating out) at Ashley's Restaurant where he enjoyed eating breakfast and socializing with his friends. He was an avid New England Sports fan.  In his spare time he liked to work in his yard and detail cars.

Bob joined Emmanuel Parish in 1986 where he was Baptised and Confirmed.  He taught Sunday School with Gail for more than 30 years, and was a member of the altar guild for many  of those years. When workers were needed Bob would be there to lend a helping hand.

Bob was happiest when surrounded by his family. He treasured the times he spent with his grandchildren on Holidays, Vacations, Birthday, special occasions, Family dinners and just being a Papa/Grampy to them and always making them feel special.

After Gail retired the traveling began. They went to Italy, France, Czech Republic , Austria and many other places.  Bobs all time favorite trip was to South Africa from Johannesburg to Zimbabwe for three weeks. He shared those stories  with anyone who would listen.

When his health began to fail along came his beautiful Great Grandchildren to love and to hold. He will be missed by anyone who was lucky enough to have known him and we will hold those memories close.
