BRAINTREE, FRAMINGHAM, & DORCHESTER, MA –
Philip Joseph Fasano, Jr. passed away on January 11, 2019 at South Shore Hospital from complications of COPD. He was the beloved son of the late Philip and Laura (Stolarczyk) Fasano. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Judith. He leaves behind his brothers, Paul of Brewster, MA, and William of Hanover, MA. Philip leaves behind his nephews Christopher of Alexandria, VA, Peter of Yarmouthport, MA, and Matthew of Cambridge, MA and grandson, Jacob Shapiro of Framingham, MA.
Philip was a proud graduate of Boston Latin School and Boston College. He earned his Master’s Degree in education from the former Boston State Teachers College.
Philip taught in the Boston Public School System for thirty-three years, his career spanning the Mary E, Curley School, the Wheatley School, and South Boston High School. He also served for many years as a union official of the Boston Teachers’ Union, notably negotiating in the Health and Welfare Division.
An avid sports fan, Philip was a rabid supporter of both the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.
Visiting hours are on Thursday, January 17, 2019 from 4 to 8 PM, at the Mortimer Peck Funeral Home located at 516 Washington St, Braintree, MA. A Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM will be held on January 18, 2019, at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 850 Washington St. Braintree.
