Paul (Wally) Wallace, a cherished member of the Boston community and beloved patriarch, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on May 1, 2024, at the age of 85. Paul was born on November 16, 1938, in Roslindale, MA, to Thomas and Pauline Wallace, both of whom have predeceased him.
Paul's journey through life was marked by his enduring love for his hometown. In 1965, he and his wife Janice settled in Weymouth, MA, to build their life together and raise their family, a testament to their deep-rooted connections to the area.
Paul leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by his wife Janice Wallace, with whom he nearly celebrated 60 years of marriage. He was a loving father to his son Scott Wallace and his wife Lisa, his daughter Pauline Reichardt and her husband John, and another daughter Ellen Gezotis and her husband Jon. His memory will also be cherished by his brothers, Thomas Wallace of Plymouth, Ross Wallace of Las Vegas, and Walter Wallace of Rhode Island, along with his eight grandchildren: Joshua, Samantha, Devin, Aidan, Tyler, Liam, McKenzie, and Madison, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Paul's academic achievements include graduating from Boston College High School and obtaining degrees in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. His illustrious career spanned various roles and organizations, including working for NASA, ADT, and eventually becoming self-employed as a court reporter for the Mid-Atlantic and New England Fish Councils.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Paul was deeply involved in his community. He coached the First Church of Weymouth girls' basketball league, was an active player in a local softball team, and contributed his time and skills to the Junior Chamber International (JC's), reflecting his commitment to service and community engagement. Paul's life was a tapestry of dedication, hard work, and community service, woven through with the deep love for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Visitation will be on Saturday May 4 from 10:00-12:00 at the Mortimer N Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington St. Braintree
