Nancy Crowley Obituary

BRAINTREE - Nancy Crowley passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 20,2021 at the age of 92. Nancy’s love of laughter and her big smile will be missed and remembered.  Nancy was the oldest of 4 children of Walter and Laura Packard. She was married to Joseph D. Crowley for nearly 50 years. Nancy and Joe Crowley had 3 children, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Nancy spent the last 9 years living with her daughter Donna, son in law Dave Moulder and their two children Benjamin and Sarah.

Nancy’s love of life was shown through her square dancing, going out to eat, celebrating her favorite holiday Christmas and traveling. Nancy and Joe loved square dancing and it was seen at their wedding reception where they had their guest up and square dancing. Nancy and Joe traveled around New England square dancing 3-4 times a week until Joe’s death in 2002. They met many friends and shared many stories about their adventures square dancing.

Nancy loved Christmas and spent weeks decorating her house in Milford, NH and her apartment in Uxbridge, Ma. She would tell family that the Christmas tree could not come down until Little Christmas. She would go to the Hallmark store and pick out a special Christmas ornament for her children and grandchildren. She would spend hours looking at each ornament to make sure it was the perfect fit for each member of her family. She would then wrap each one and mail it to each family member. I can remember that I loved snowmen and she got me a special present each year a musical snowman from the Hallmark store. She wrapped it up for me each year and placed it under our tree. As the years went on the wrapping got shakier but the love was still there and we tried to continue the tradition.

Nancy was Foreman of the Moulder family garden. She really loved to eat right off the vine. She would come outside watch us do all the work then go to the box and start to eat. I would give her a bucket to put the veggies or fruit into, but Nancy decided it was more fun to eat them. She would say ”2 for me and one for the bucket”. Then she would eat the ones she picked. Many times, the bucket came in empty. This love of food continued when she went out to eat. She loved to go out to eat with family and friends. Nancy was a diabetic and she would order healthy food, but when you turned your back, she would steal your French fries. Then give you a big smile and laugh.

Nancy and Joe loved to travel. They would say” Have bag will travel”. They would be off traveling in a heart beat to Australia, China, Alaska and many other places around the world. When Joe passed away, Nancy started to travel with the Moulder family. Each year, Nancy would go to Florida where she loved to sit on the porch, drink her tea in her PJs and watch people or nature. So, it was appropriate that Nancy passed away when Dave and Donna were down in Florida. The moment she passed the skies opened up and heavy rain came down as if to say goodbye.

Nancy was the mother of Douglas Joseph Crowley married to Evelyn Crowley of Maryland, Dean Allan Crowley married to Linda Crowley of Virginia and Donna Lynne Moulder married to Dave Moulder of Uxbridge.

Nancy will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving mother, grandmother and great friend to all that knew her.  A graveside service will be held on April 29th at 10:30 AM at Blue Hills Cemetery at 700 West St. Braintree, MA.  Arrangements by the BRAINTREE PECK FUNERAL HOME 516 Washington Street.
