May Sleep Obituary

May (Wold) Sleep was born May 1st (hence her name!), 1923 in Mattapan, Mass. She was 97 years old. She was the 7th of 10 children of Lars Wold (born in Oslo, Norway) and Elsa Ringholm Wold ( born in Stockholm, Sweden). She grew up on Village Street in Medway, Mass. May met her husband, Bill, while working for the same company in Boston in the 1940s. They married in Medway on May 11th, 1951. May and Bill lived in Franklin and Quincy before settling in Braintree in 1959. They had 2 daughters, Ginny (Sleep) Krot of Braintree and Cindy (Sleep) McCeney of Alexandria, Virginia. May worked at Jordan Marsh at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree for many years. She enjoyed spending summers at the family cottage on Lake Archer in Wrentham, Mass. She also loved travelling through New England and to Washington D.C., Florida, Las Vegas, California, England, and Scandinavia. May was a fixture at Braintree High and Braintree youth sporting events for her children and grandchildren. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and later became a Washington Nationals fan as well. Besides Ginny and Cindy, May is survived by her son-in-laws, Nick Krot of Braintree and Joe McCeney of Alexandria, Virginia. GMa,or Gram, will also really be missed by her beloved grandchildren, Will and Sarah Clang of Chestnut Hill, Robin (Clang) and Jeremy Banks of Clayton, North Carolina, Brittany (Clang) Flynn and Ryan Barry of Braintree, and Michael McCeney of Alexandria, Virginia. May had 4 great grandchildren that she loved to pieces, Ella and Jacob Banks of Clayton, N.C. and Avery Flynn and Alanna Barry of Braintree. She will also be missed by her beloved sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Tony Pappas of Brewster, Mass and her dear sister-in-law, Connie Wold of Medway, Mass. Aunt May was also survived by 11 remaining nieces and nephews.  May lived a beautiful, happy, long life and we will miss her dearly.  Ginny and Cindy would like to thank everyone at Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center in Norwell, Ma for their love and kindness and a special heartfelt thank you to Autumn Hospice, in Norwell, Ma for all their love and support.
