Marjorie " Marge " Kearns Obituary

Marjorie “Marge” Kearns, 91, of Braintree, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family and community. Born on June 17, 1934, in Weymouth, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Helen Smith and John L. McDonough.

Marge’s life was defined by compassion, humor, and unshakable faith in the goodness of people. A devoted wife to the late Thomas F. Kearns, she built a home filled with laughter, love, and generosity. Together they raised three children — Thomas Kearns III, Maureen Ellstrom, and Eileen Christina — and Marge extended her nurturing spirit far beyond her immediate family by fostering more than 100 babies throughout her lifetime. Her home was truly a haven for those in need.

Deeply involved in her community, Marge was a proud member of All Souls Church in Braintree, where her dedication helped secure the church’s place on the historical registry. She was an active participant in the church’s social action group, tirelessly working on initiatives that promoted human rights, environmental awareness, and social progress.

Marge’s warmth and positivity were as constant as her love for a good book. An avid reader, she delighted in sharing recommendations and stories, spreading joy through conversation and laughter. She possessed a rare ability to find humor in every situation, turning life’s trials into moments of lightness and connection.

Marge is survived by her sister Helen Baker, sister Janice W. Curtis Damstra, her children Thomas Kearns, Maureen Ellstrom, and Eileen Christina, and Her grand Children Jonathan Christina, Steven Christina, Jessica Ellstrom and Sarah Ellstrom Majorie is preceded in Death by her Grandchildren the late Michael Christina and Aliesha Christina.
