Marie A (Delaney) Pessa

Marie A. Pessa, 91, of Braintree passed away peacefully at South Shore Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday afternoon May 27, 2021.

Marie was born in Dorchester and attended Dorchester High School for Girls and Massachusetts College of Art.  She began her career as a commercial artist in advertising and after raising her family worked as a traffic supervisor for the Town of Braintree and then as Registrar for Blue Hills Regional Continuing Education.  Marie and her late husband Arthur enjoyed their family and life.  They loved to go dancing and enjoyed many vacations raising the family.  After retiring they enjoyed many winters in Vero Beach Florida.  Marie was a talented artist and painted pictures for many friends and family.  Her famous quillows can be found in the hands of family members and many friends.  She and Arthur enjoyed the neighborhood children as well , giving out candy and treats on Christmas.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late Arthur R. Pessa and loving mother and mother-in-law of Michele Pessa, Valerie (Pessa) and Robert DeLorey and the late Marc R. Pessa.  Marie is blessed with 6 grandchildren, Dan Pessa, Joe Pessa, Greg and Sarah Pessa, Giovanna Pessa and Jessica (DeLorey) and Matt Shearer and Nikki DeLorey.

Visiting Hours will be at the Morti­­mer Peck Funeral Home of Braintree, June 9, 2021 from 4-8pm.  The funeral service will be June 10, 2021, 9-11am also at Mortimer Peck Funeral Home.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers the family sincerely requests that donations in her memory be made to the Norwell Visiting Nurse and Hospice, 120 Longwater Dr. Norwell, MA 02061
