Braintree- Margaret L. (Van Dyck ) Grondell. Beloved wife of the late Walter A
Grondell. The Daughter of the late Margaret Van Dyck and Charles D. Van Dyck
sister to the late Anna F. Mulvey, and sister-in-law to the late Mary Craven. Also
survived by several nieces and nephews.
Born in Utica, New York, she moved to Boston, Ma. In 1938 with her family. Long
time resident of Braintree Ma. She was a Mother and homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters, Catherine Ann Borey and her husband Stephen
A. Borey of Marietta Georgia and Janis M. McLarnon and her husband Gerald
Mclarnon of Falmouth Ma. Two sons, Walter A. Grondell Jr. of Braintree Ma. and
Joseph A. Grondell of Middleboro Ma.
Margaret was the grandmother of six grandchildren. Gerald MclLarnon Jr., Justin
McLarnon, Jennipher A. Borey Harrell, Christipher A. Borey, Joseph Grondell Jr
and Joshua Grondell.
Margaret also has five beautiful great grand children: Gerald McLarnon, Jackson
McLarnon, Abigail McLarnon, Mary McLarnon, Jack Grondell, Lily Grondell, Colin
A. Borey, Connor Borey and Owen D. Harrell.
Margaret was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Boston 2355 Ladies
Auxillary and Weymouth Ma 2899 for over Forty Years. Margaret enjoyed
traveling to Hilton, loved Polka dancing with friends and family. Margaret also
enjoyed going to plays in Boston and Micheal Hammond Company Theater Plays.
Margaret was also a member of the Queen Pins Bowling League with her
daughter Janis McLarnon and all her great bowling friends.
Margaret has resided at the John Scott Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the
last five years where she, where she received very kind and loving care by all the staff.
Visiting Hours will be at the Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington St.in Braintree on Tuesday January, 17 from 4-7. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Braintree at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday January, 18 Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. There will be a luncheon following the burial that will be announced at the cemetery.
