In Braintree, Marcia Schepici, age 90, passed away peacefully at home on September 10, surrounded by her family. She was born in Newport, RI to the late Kay and Thomas Knott. She was married for 53 years to the love of her life Sal (Skip) Schepici. She was the sister to the late Tom Jr. and Jack. She leaves behind her children, Kathy Quigley and husband James, Marcia Burns and husband Jeff, Salvatore Schepici and wife Susan, Stephen Schepici and wife Marianne, Larry Schepici and wife Karen, Michael Schepici and wife Dawn, Paula Fallon and husband Brian. She is predeceased by her daughter Andrea Schepici. She has 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Marcia attended Rogers High School in Newport, RI. She relocated to Massachusetts with her husband. She worked for many years at Sears and Roebuck. She volunteered wherever she was needed but her most rewarding service was at the Germantown Neighborhood Center/South Shore YMCA, in Quincy, MA. Marcia held a Women’s group where she taught mothers how to cook. She also cooked for the lunch program and after school program. Marcia’s pride and joy was her family and everyone that knew her felt like they were family. She was caring, compassionate and one of her greatest qualities she never judged anyone. She always saw the best in people and wanted to add happiness to everyone she came in contact with. She loved people, especially children and everywhere she went she made friends. She cooked for everyone and was affectionately known as “Nana Marcia.” It is impossible to list all of the wonderful things she did to impact so many people. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Rest in peace “Nana Banana.”
Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, September 17 from 10:00 A.M.-12:30 P.M. with a Funeral Mass at 1:00 at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Braintree.
