KINGSTON - Luigi Leone, age 81, of Kingston Mass, formally of Braintree Mass, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, February 2nd, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Cecile Leone; his children, Christine Williams and her husband, Graham, Robert Leone and wife Jennifer, Sandra Kearns and her husband Scott, and Phyllis Linabury, and her husband Mark; as well as his grandchildren, Nicole, Rachel, and Justin Williams; Kristin and Robert Leone; Alexandra, Erin, Sean, and Mia Kearns; Sarah and Jacob Linabury, and great-grandchild, Isabella.
Luigi, known as Papa Louie, to his family and friends, was born on November 16, 1938, in Anzano Di Puglia, Italy. He came to America in 1956, where he reunited with his brother Vinny in Boston’s North End. He married Cecile (Pisano) and became the devoted husband and father, he was. He worked several jobs including the garment industry before earning a reputation as a master tiler; who was sought after for his work. He enjoyed tending to his garden, playing bocce, and spending time with his beloved German Shepherds. He enjoyed spending winters in Naples, FL, with his wife and friends. He was happiest when surrounded by his loving family and friends. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who had the privilege of meeting him.
Visiting hours, will be held at Peck Funeral Homes, on Thursday, February 6th from 4 to 8 PM. Funeral Service will be held in the Peck Funeral Homes, 516 Washington St. on Friday starting at 9 AM and concluding in a Catholic Prayer Service from 10 AM until 10:30 AM, followed by and 11:00 graveside service.
