Katherine "Kay" G (Earle) Herbert

Katherine G. (Earle) Herbert, 82 of Largo, Florida passed away suddenly, on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 while visiting family in Massachusetts.  Katherine “Kay” was born in Boston on May 6, 1939 to the late William X. and Margaret M. (Smith) Earle.  
Above all Kay loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She had a zest for life, traveling around the world and cruising the seas in the company of family and friends.  Kay had a successful career of over 40 years in the insurance industry and retired as a Claims Adjuster in Workmen’s Compensation from the Guaranty Fund.  She also spent many hours volunteering at the Hope Villages of America food kitchen in Clearwater FL and was noted for dedication during the Covid pandemic.
 
Kay was the long-time loving wife to the late Anthony “Tony” Campo then to the late Robert “El Bobo” Sanborn.  Kay is also predeceased by her brother William X. Earle Jr. and ex-husband Patrick Herbert.   
 
Kay was the beloved mother to Ann M. Fitzgerald and her husband Henry of Braintree, MA, Rick Herbert and his wife Mary of Woburn, MA, and Maribeth  Janssens and her husband Leo of Ashburnham, MA.  Adored Nana Kay to Katie and her husband Darren, Stephanie, Kelsey  Kellie, Molly, Patrick, Shawn,  Jacob, and his partner Kyle.  Great-Grandson Colin O’Connor was her purest source of love and pride.  Spending her final day hearing him say, “Hi Nana” for the first time gives our family comfort.
 
Kay also leaves her adored brother, John C. Earle of Florida as well as her three nephews, several cousins, and numerous friends in Florida, “up North” and in Ohio.
 
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree MA.  A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 4:00 PM at the Granite Grill, 703 Granite Street, Braintree MA.
