Joe was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He was the youngest of 6 and always considered “the baby” by his sisters. He never really liked school and joined the marines after finishing high school. He was so proud of being a member of the “Corps”. He served from October 1950 - March 1952. The service made it possible for him to graduate from Suffolk University. He worked in the Quincy Shipyard and the New York and New Haven Railroad. He married the love of his life, Janet Costello, in 1958. They began their family in 1959, welcoming 3 children in 4 years. Joe worked hard selling corn syrup for much of his working years. He and Janet traveled a bit after retirement but the golf course was his real joy. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed every moment on the course. He was also a home gardener. In the early years, he grew many different vegetables. He finally settled on tomatoes and was always proud of his yield each year. Joe lived a good life. He loved family and friends. He was always willing to help someone out when needed and many people looked up to him. Rest in Peace Joe. You will be missed.
