BRAINTREE-
Joanne Rawson, 80, of Braintree, graduated to heaven on December 15th, after a life on earth well-lived. She was born January 13, 1938 to Elmer and Josephine Weaver of Braintree and graduated from Braintree High School in 1955. Joanne retired from Serono Laboratories around 2002. She was highly devoted to Emmanuel Episcopal Parish where she faithfully served the Lord in many capacities. She was an active member of the Island Grove Chorus, part of Sweet Adelines international. She sang a strong lead and blessed audiences with her joy. Joanne always had a song in her heart and was willing to share it any moment.
Joanne had many roles in life but will be lovingly remembered as Mum, Grammy, Nana, and Mum Rawson.
She is survived by her sister, Susan Ready of San Diego, CA, and brother, Robert Weaver of Marshfield.
She is survived by her three daughters: Leanne Randall and her husband Kyle of Braintree, Debby Stratton and her husband John of Brockton, and Pamela Morse and her husband Earle of Carrabassett Valley, Maine. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Adam and Abigail Randall, Destiny and Isabella Stratton and Samuel and Benjamin Morse with this wife, Molly. She has four grandbabies welcoming her in heaven.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, December 22nd at Emmanuel Episcopal Parish, 519 Washington Street, Braintree. Luncheon to follow in the fellowship hall. The family encourages attendees to wear festive holiday attire! Per Joanne’s wishes, donations may be made to Emmanuel Parish or Camps Farthest Out (CFO).
