Joan S (Sheridan) Newcomb

Joan (Sheridan) Newcomb of Braintree, Age 89, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2023,
surrounded by her loving family. Joan lived her life to the fullest, driving herself and running her own
errands until two month before her death. Her strength and determination were only overshadowed by
her love and devotion to her family.
Joan was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School and went on to graduate from the Boston School of
Business. She was an executive secretary from a Boston based commercial realty company before
leaving that position to start her family.
Joan felt her greatest accomplishments in life were her children and being debt free.
She was predeceased by her husband, George C. Newcomb Jr. in 1999.
Joan is survived by her three loving children and their spouses: Suzanne Robinson (James) of Pocasset,
MA, Robert Newcomb (Carolyn) of Hanson, MA, and Erik Newcomb (Cindy) of Easton, MA. She is also
survived by five grandchildren, Zackary Robinson of Columbus, OH, Justin Robinson of Palmer, MA,
Victoria DiRito (Justin) of Plymouth, MA, Christine Newcomb (Michael Szczesny) of Whitman MA, and
Robert Newcomb (Casey Ray) of Abington, MA. Joan is also survived by one great grandchild, Levi
Robinson of Palmer, MA, and her doting godchild Elaine DeCarlo of Weymouth, MA.
Funeral procession will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 25, from the Peck Funeral Home, 516
Washington Street in Braintree, 02184. A mass will take place at St. Francis of Assisi at 10:00 a.m.,
followed by a burial at Blue Hills Cemetery in Braintree, MA.
