Jean P. (Ferrara) Bocchino of Braintree, formerly of the North End passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2021 at the age of 86. Beloved wife for 65 years of Frank J. Bocchino; loving mother of Carole and her husband Ralph Petto of Saugus and Pamela and the late Dominic Calapa of Marshfield; daughter of the late Peter and Grace Ferrara of Boston; sister of the late Santo and Mary Ferrara of Medford. Also survived by her cherished grandchildren and great grandchild; Gregory and Gabrielle Petto of Wakefield, Giana and Dominic Calapa of Marshfield and baby Luca of Wakefield. Jeanie also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Jeanie is a graduate of Julie Billiart Highschool of the North End. She began a career in insurance and banking and finally ended her career at South Shore Savings Bank in Weymouth. She was married to the love of her life “Frankie” and happily resided in Braintree for 52 years, raising her two daughters. Jeanie loved to spend time with her family and friends; socializing, entertaining, cooking, and traveling were her passions. She was the “Unofficial mayor” of Bayview beach in Dennis, her second home.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Mortimer N. Peck Funeral home at 516 Washington St, Braintree. All are invited to gather at the funeral home at 9:00 A.M on Friday, December 10th, prior to the funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 10:30 A.M. December 10th; burial will follow at the Blue Hill Cemetery Braintree.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the visitation for Mrs. Bocchino has been moved to Thursday, December 9th, 2021 from 4-8 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 10th, at 10:30 A.M at Sacred Heart Parish.
