Janet Yench Obituary

Janet Yench ("Born in Southie, lived in Braintree, two weeks in Newport") passed away early April 9, 2024. She was known for her unwavering love, feisty spirit, infectious joy and laughter, and incredible strength and resilience. Janet was an avid reader and library supporter, jazz music lover, and had a great sense of humor. A devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Janet's love knew no bounds, and her family meant everything to her. Janet was a shining example of how to be a good friend and how to show love. She had many friends that meant the world to her and she cared for them deeply.

Her culinary and hosting skills were legendary, and she delighted in sharing meals and creating memories with those she held dear. For many years, Janet dedicated herself to serving the community through her work in the Braintree school system as a para for special needs children. Her kindness, compassion, and dedication touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. Additionally, her commitment to civic duty extended to volunteering in elections, further exemplifying her passion for community involvement. She enjoyed many years as an American Red Cross Volunteer for the Boston Marathon.

Janet is survived by her husband of 53 years, Whitney, her daughter Jennifer, her son David, her brother and sister-in-law Tommy and Barbie, her nephew Brendan and his wife Lexi, and her nephew Jason. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will forever shine bright in the many lives of those she touched. In this time of mourning, we ask that you keep Janet and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Her absence will be deeply felt, but her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all. Rest in peace, dear Janet. You will be dearly missed, and your legacy will endure for generations to come.
