Obituary

Harrison (Hank/Sonny) Macomber Jr (84) of North Dartmouth passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022. He was the
husband of the late Jean Marie Macomber of Brockton. A native of Braintree, MA, Harrison moved to Dartmouth in 1986 and remained there until his death. A long-time employee of Polaroid, Harrison spent time as a coach for Braintree Youth Baseball and Basketball, DYAA
Basketball and Baseball as well as spending nearly 40 years bowling in various leagues across Massachusetts, finishing up as a long time member at Holiday Lanes in Westport.  In addition, he spent over 50 years in competitive golf leagues in the greater Boston area and was a long time league member at Presidents Golf Course in Quincy, MA winning multiple championships there. Harrison considered his greatest achievements to be the large family he was surrounded by. Throughout the course of his life, he became the proud father of 5 children and 11 grandchildren as well as 1 great grandchild. Harrison's philosophy on raising kids was that it was important to give them & quot;Roots and WIngs" and that was evident in the many accomplishments of his family. In addition, in recent years, Harrison was able to find a long-
time companion, Constance Arruda, who was by his side throughout his last days. Harrison and Constance were a fixture at Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI in the past 5 years. He is survived by children, Karen Hurd and her fiance David Donoho of Florida, Susan Kenney and husband Robert Kenney of California, Robert Smith and wife Carrie Smith of North Carolina, James Macomber and his partner Dawn Taunton of Bourne, MA and Jeffrey Macomber and wife Melanie Macomber of Georgia, in addition to 11 Grandchildren (Jessica Hurd, Sarah Kenney, Caitlin Macomber, Corey Macomber, Abigail Macomber, Riley Macomber, Tyler Macomber, Breanna Macomber, Jaiden Macomber, Avery Macomber and
Sierra Macomber) and 1 Great-Grandchild (Landon Elmore) Viewing for Harrison will take place on Wednesday August 3, 2022 at Mortimer Peck Funeral Home in Braintree, MA. from 9-10:30 with the Crossroads Ministry. Burial will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery at 700 West Street in Braintree.
