Gerald Dagley
Wednesday, April 21, 2021, Gerald Malcolm Dagley, passed away at age 91. Gerald was born July 22, 1929 in Braintree Massachusetts to Wallace and Luella Dagley. After graduating from Braintree High School he joined the family business, working as a house painter with his father.
Gerald cherished growing up in East Braintree with, so many fond memories that would last a lifetime. Gerald excelled in athletics and was an outstanding fastball pitcher, playing in the Canadian minor leagues. He also played and coached basketball for several local leagues and the Weymouth First Baptist Church. Gerald was a favorite Uncle to his many nieces and nephews, always up for fun at College Pond in Plymouth (Bob’s camp), Paragon Park, and Nantasket Beach. He led many a family hike through the Blue Hills Reservation. In his later years, Gerald resided at Union Towers in Weymouth and Queen Anne Nursing Home in Hingham where he was known for his sense of humor, endless trivia facts, and his love of people. Gerald was always talking and proudly bragging about his family to all.
Gerald was preceded in death by his father Wallace R. Dagley, mother Luella R. (West) Dagley, bothers, Wally and Robert, and sister Marion (Dagley) Greene. He is survived by his beloved niece Joanne Greene and her husband Richard Greene as well as 16 nieces and nephews.
The memorial service and burial will be limited to only family due to the current restrictions.
