SALEM, NH - DERRY, NH - BRAINTREE - George E. Willard, Jr., age 97, passed away in Manchester, NH. George was the beloved husband of sixty years to Virginia L. (Eckhart) Willard. They had lived in Braintree for much of sixty-three years. George was the son of the late George E. Willard, Sr. and his wife, Leah M. (Wiltsie) Willard. George held a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Boston University. George was a Navy Pilot during WWII flying a Wildcat airplane, as a Lt. JG. He also had flown in the Stearman-Boeing "Yellow Peril" planes. He later became a Teacher and Principal in the Boston Public Schools for 42 years. He taught and administered special needs students, in the Boston Public School system. George leaves behind his son, Curt Willard, and George's brother, Marc Willard, and George's sister, Lois Willard and George's grandson, Christopher Willard. George was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Virginia, by his son, Alan Willard, his father George Willard Sr., his mother Leah Willard, and his sisters Elma Leonard, Alice Chaplik, and Esther Bridges. A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held at the Braintree Peck Funeral Homes at 516 Washington St, Braintree on Saturday, February 15th, 2019 from 4 to 6 PM. Donations in George's memory may be made to the Salvation Army.
