Francis Edward King

Francis E. King, age 66 of Braintree, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 11, 2021.  Frank was born in Dorchester to Francis King and Mary (McCue) King Fleming.  Frank was predeceased by his Father, Francis King, and his Dad, Robert Fleming, who lovingly raised Frank from a very young age.  Frank was the eldest of six siblings which include Robert Fleming and Jodi of Braintree, Daniel Fleming and Paula of Beavercreek, OH, Mary Ellen Fleming of Braintree, Ann Marie Fleming Warner of Braintree, and John Fleming of Pembroke.  He leaves behind his precious nieces and nephews which include his God Daughter Madeline Warner, Leonora Fleming, Hannah Fleming, Robert Fleming, Sean Fleming, Christopher Warner, Kelly Fleming, and Michael Fleming, and of course his feline friend named Newfie.  Frank also had a large extended family and many close friends who held him, dear.

Frank graduated from the Mount Assumption Institute in Plattsburg, NY in 1972 and subsequently from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1976.  He was a dedicated employee and Manager at Verizon Communications for 35 years and was fortunate to be able to retire over 10 years ago.  In the years since his retirement, Frank’s primary focus was taking care of his aging parents initially his Father, and more recently his Mother facing her own health issues at home. 

Frank, an avid Boston sports fan and golfer, was a kind, loving and selfless person who always put his family first.  He enjoyed spending time with them celebrating Birthdays, Anniversaries, getting together for Sunday dinners, or out to eat at his favorite restaurant, Haddad’s in Marshfield, always ordering the fried scallops.  During the summer you would find Frank at his family’s cottage in Fieldston relaxing by the ocean in his zero gravity beach recliner.  Frank will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Funeral services and burial will be private.  Donations in Frank’s memory may be sent to St. Anthony’s Guild, 144 W 32nd Street, New York, NY 10001.
