Elaine Evelyn (Rockwood) Manning

We celebrate the life of Elaine Evelyn (Rockwood) Manning (01/01/32 – 05/17/22), Loving wife of the late Joseph R. Manning of Middleboro, MA and sister Gail Johnson of Goffstown, NH. She is the beloved mother of 5, foster mother of 5, grandmother of 13, and great-grandmother of 13.

She is survived by her children - Colleen and Peter Farrington of Andover, ME., Ralph and Karen Manning of Andover, ME., Robert and Valerie Manning of Middleboro, MA., Renee and Serena Manning of Andover, MA., and Lynne and Marc Leishman of North Dartmouth, MA.  

Her Grandchildren – John Newall, Mary Newall, David/Jessica Newall, Leslie Platka, Stephen/Elizabeth Platka, , Herb Manning, Josh Manning, Tia Manning, Grant Manning, Evelyn Manning, Erin/Jacob Hachey, Valerie/Tyler Wolstenholme, Ross Leishman… and 13 great-grandchildren.

Elaine was born in Norfolk, MA and raised in Walpole, MA. She and Dad raised their family in Braintree, MA where she was a teacher’s assistant for 18 years in the Braintree Public School system. She loved to paint and serenade the family playing the piano and organ. All agree that she was the greatest cook, proving it every time we all gathered on holidays. Growing up, mom and dad could often be caught waltzing in the living room. Nothing pleased her more than spending time with the family.

The wake will be held at Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St. Braintree, MA on Saturday, May 21st from 9:30am-10:30am and the Graveside Service will be held immediately following the wake at Union Cemetery in Holbrook, MA  from 11:00 AM – 12:00pm.
