Elaine (Duggan) Hapgood

BRAINTREE - Elaine T. Hapgood (Duggan), 84, passed peacefully at her son’s home
surrounded by her loving family on October 5, 2022. She was born and raised in
Dorchester, MA. After graduating from Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School, she
worked as a telephone switchboard operator before marrying her high school
sweetheart, Bruce (Happy) for 52 years. They made their home in Mattapan Ma,
before moving to Quincy Ma. In 2017 Elaine moved to Braintree to live with her son
and family. Devoted mother of Stephen A. and his wife Elizabeth, loving grandmother to
Brian M., Michael R. and Brendan C., all of Braintree. She enjoyed attending her
grandchildren's sporting events. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary
Duggan and sister to the late Marion LaMountain. Sister- in-law to Paul and Helen
Hapgood of Plymouth Ma. In addition she leaves many nephews and their families.
Visiting hours will be at the Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington Street, Braintree on
Tuesday, October 11th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  Funeral Services will be held at the Peck
Funeral Home on Wednesday October 12th at 9:00am private viewing, with a 10:30 am
Mass at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 44 School St., Quincy, Ma. In lieu of
flowers donations can be made to Seasons Hospice, 1 Edgewater Dr. Norwood, Ma
