Edward Lawson Obituary

Edward M. Lawson of Weymouth passed away peacefully on March 23 at the age of 76. Edward graduated Boston Technical High School in 1962 and enlisted as the 3rd generation into the Army serving from 1964 to 1968. He continued his education at Newbury Junior College in Boston earning his Associates Degree in Business. He started his career in the flooring business at Adams & Sweat in Dorchester MA. He worked part-time at Stop & Shop even after retiring back in 2006.

Edward aka “Mickey”, greatest pastime was dancing. He enjoyed oldies, country music, and Irish music. He spent most of his dancing days at the Irish Dances in Dorchester and Memory Lane in Braintree where he meet his second wife Edith. He was also a self-acclaimed comedian. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.

Loving husband of the late Edith (Spurrier) Lawson and former husband of Grace (Gosse) Lawson of Bridgewater. Son of the late Harry and Mary Eileen Lawson. Devoted father of Amy Lawson of Kingston, Karen and her husband Michael Morad of Weymouth, and Patrick Lawson of South Boston. Beloved brother Donna Simmons of Arizona, Richard and his wife Ellen of Cape Cod, Judy Sudak of Quincy and John Francis of Dedham. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
