Dorothy A. Glover, age 92, of Hoodsport, Washington, formerly of South Lake Tahoe,
Nevada, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic car accident on Saturday, July
19, 2022. She was the loving wife of James T. Glover, II, who preceded her in death.
Dorothy was born in Oklahoma, and was the youngest of five (5) siblings. Four (4) sisters
(one set of twins); and one brother. Her maiden name is Stokee. From Oklahoma, the
whole family relocated to Long Beach, California in the 1950s. She later got a job at the
Long Beach Shipyard, where she won a beauty contest, "Miss Long Beach". The prize was
a scholarship to the Barbizon School of modeling. She raised a son, Michael McCullough
and a daughter Glena McCullough (predeceased). Where she later married Major James T.
Glover, then stationed at March Air Force Base, Sunnymead, California, in '1969. When he
retired from the Air Force, they travelled all over the United States in their RV; until they
finally bought a home and settled in Hoodsport, Washington, to be near her son and
daughter-in-law.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Michael McCullough; her daughter-in-law Lori Jean Smith
Needham and her step-daughter, Tina Glover; together with countless grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
Dorothy was an excellent homemaker. Her cooking talent was "over the top". She also was
a master seamstress, as well as making teddy bears and quilts and sold them to local
boutiques. She also loved to paint original oil paintings. Most of all, she had a tremendous
singing voice, however, she waived her talent, in order to raise her 2 children.
Dorothy will be greatly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved
her.
Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the https://qofund.me/8fd8dcl5 to assist the
families of Dorothy's son Michael and daughter-in-law, Lori, that were critically injured in the same car
accident.
