David W Mcdonald

David McDonald, 72, of Weymouth MA passed away peacefully September 8th surrounded by family and listening to the music he cherished, The Rolling Stones. This was the end of a remarkable and inspiring fight against Parkinson’s Disease for the last 30 years.

Dave was raised in Braintree MA by Edith and William McDonald who predeceased him. He is survived by his sister Barbara Luppino and her husband Roy (Brockton MA). David went to meet his beloved wife Rosemary (Owens) McDonald in his passing. He is survived by four children Nicole Bigelow and her husband Chris (Weymouth), Daniel McDonald and his wife Chandra (Canton) , Lindsey McDonald and her wife Erica (Weymouth), and Sarah and her partner Amber (Bridgewater). David is survived by 8 wonderful grandchildren , Matthew, Charlotte, Ada, Declan, Zachary, Callie, Anderson and Oliver, whom he so enjoyed watching grow. David also leaves behind 9 nieces and nephews as well as a multitude of loving family members and life long friends.

Dave devoted countless hours to volunteering when his children were young, supporting them through soccer, little league and always being their number one fan at every event. His passion for music was a constant (sometimes too loud) thread that connected everything in his life.

One of Dave’s biggest pleasures was spending time on Cape Cod in the family home in Eastham MA. Here he kept meticulous gardens with a curated green thumb. The family time spent on the Cape are memories all will cherish for years to come.

Please join us on Thursday, September 11th at Mortimer Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St. Braintree, for a visitation from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral services will be Friday, September 12th at Mortimer Peck Funeral Home at 10am. Internment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Weymouth. Family and friends are welcome.
