Claire A. Currier, age 88, of Braintree formerly of Quincy, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Claire was born in Quincy to the late Sheldon W. and Helen R (Thompson) Lewis. She was a graduate of Woodward School for Girls, Class of 1953 and then graduated from Lesley College in 1957, where she majored in Elementary Education. She later
taught Kindergarten in Hartford Connecticut and Milton Massachusetts.
Claire had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed singing, playing the marimba, camping, photography, gardening, scrapbooking, and doing craft projects. Her passion, however, was being a faithful servant and follower of Jesus. She was a member of many church activities including leading and participating in Bible studies and teaching Sunday School. She attended both Abundant Life Church in Braintree and Fort Square Church in Quincy.
She enjoyed being around family and friends. Beloved wife of almost 50 years to Donald Charles Currier, loving mother of Nancy Elaine O’Connor and her husband Kevin of Braintree, and Susan Rebecca Blake of Braintree, grandmother of Stephen Charles Blake and Sarah Elizabeth Blake of Braintree, and Rachel Elizabeth O’Connor and Leanne Rose O’Connor of Braintree. She is also the great-grandmother of twins Brianna Elizabeth Blake and Isabella Claire Blake.
Visiting hours for Claire will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street Braintree, MA 02184 on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. A celebration of Claire’s Life will be held at Fort Square Presbyterian Church, 16 Pleasant Street Quincy, MA 02169 on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 11:00. Burial will be at the Braintree Cemetery followed by a collation at Fort Square.
