Barbara Ann (Scotton) Shea, 88, of Braintree, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024.
Born in Dorchester on June 21, 1936, Barbara dedicated her life to raising her family in Braintree, where she created a loving home for her children and grandchildren.
A dedicated professional, Barbara worked at several notable establishments including New England Telephone, Bradlees, Lord & Taylor, and Filene’s Basement. She had a resolute personality and found joy in the little things—whether it was her love of smiley faces, M&Ms, or the excitement of giving fun presents. Barbara also enjoyed reading, knitting, baking, and shoveling snow. She will be remembered for her love of her family, and the memories they created together.
Barbara is predeceased by her mother Mary (Hickey) Scotton, her aunt Katherine Hickey, her aunt Rose (Hickey) Reilly and her sister Dorothy (Scotton) Berry.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Richard (Dick) Shea and mother of her cherished sons, Richard and his wife Monica of Plymouth, Edward of Quincy, and Michael of Weymouth. She was a proud grandmother to Caroline, Meghan, Cassandra, Ryan, Jeffrey, and Michael.
