Albert P. Riloff
October 6, 1930 to January 27, 2021
Albert Paul Riloff passed away peacefully on January 27, 2021 at Rose Court at Linden Ponds, Hingham, where he resided. Al was born in Philadelphia on October 6, 1930, and grew up there with his parents, Harry and Sadie (Dichter) Riloff, and his sister, Phyllis Riloff Janto. After high school, he attended the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and then embarked on a successful career in sales. Al moved to Boston in the late 1950s to work for Milprint Packaging, and there met his future wife, Dorothy Marini. Al and Dottie shared over 50 happy years, filled with family, friends, community service, and travel, until her death in 2013.
Al will be remembered for his love of jazz music, keen interest in current events, and ace photography skills, which provided the family at large with a priceless visual record. A lifelong learner, Al spent over a decade taking various classes at the Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement once he wrapped up his business career. He would have been heartened to see the pandemic restrictions that constrained his final year gradually being lifted.
Al is survived by his sister Phyllis, ten nieces and nephews, as well as their children and grandchildren.
Al will be interred at Liberty Plain Cemetery in Hingham, MA on July 14 at 10 am but due to inclement weather rescheduled to Thursday at 10 AM July 15th, 2021.
