Alan H. Lockwood of Braintree, Massachusetts passed peacefully on Saturday November 26th at the age of 83. He was predeceased by both his loving wife, Janice (Cary) Lockwood and his son, Kevin Lockwood.
Alan will be lovingly remembered by his son, Brian and his wife Kim of Norwell, his daughter, Michele Columbine and her husband Robert of Weymouth. His grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Jonathan and Andrew Lockwood; Grace and Faith Columbine; Evan and Noah Lockwood. His sister, Nancy Mee and her husband William. And his nephews, Christopher Mee and his wife Beth and Gregory Mee and his wife Patricia.
He was born in Newton, Massachusetts where he grew up and attended Newton North High School with his good friends, Richard Quigley and Donald Marden who he has shared so many wonderful times with over the years.
Alan was employed for 35 years with John Hancock in Boston.
He enjoyed being with his family, umpiring Braintree youth baseball and softball, singing in the church choir, attending grandchildren’s sports games and events, spending time talking with friends in South Braintree Square and trips to Maine.
Alan’s gift was to be a friend to everyone he met and to make them smile.

Funeral service for Alan will be held at St. Clare Parish 1244 Liberty Street Braintree on Saturday, December 3rd at 10:00 am.
