BRAINTREE- William Joseph Keefe, Jr., 86 years of age, passed away at his home on Thursday, June 15, 2017. He was born in Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School. William worked in the parts department for Quincy Motors before working for Dave Dinger in Braintree. After that he worked for Herb Chambers in Braintree, retiring 6 years ago at age 80. William was known as a family man and was proud to be known as the “best Dad and Grampie in the whole wide world.” He has been a Braintree resident for 57 years. William was the wonderful husband of Joanne T. (Castelli) Keefe to whom he had been married to for 59 years. He was the devoted father of Jean Kilduff married to Brian of Norwell, Michael J. Keefe married to Lauren of Middleboro, Linda Keefe of Carver, and the late Richard P. Keefe, who was the husband of Rachael Keefe of Canton. He was the proud Grampie to Erica Lane of Scituate, Kristen Kilduff of South Boston, Lauren Kilduff of Norwell, Shana Quinn of Middleboro, Michael Keefe Jr. of Braintree, Amanda Keefe of Randolph, Samantha Keefe of Canton, Richard P. Keefe Jr of Canton, Julia Gentile of Carver, and Salvatore Gentile, USMC stationed at Camp Legune, N.C. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.  William was the brother of Joan Keefe and Louise Keefe both of Quincy, George and Maureen Keefe of South Yarmouth, Thomas and Carol Keefe of Tewksbury, the late Paul Keefe, and the late Rev. Father Ambrose Keefe formerly of Richmond, VA. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Monday, June 19th from 4-6pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 20th at 9:30am to be followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington Street, Braintree at 10:30am. Burial will be private. Rather than flowers, the family sincerely hopes that memorial donations in William’s memory may be sent to the VNA Hospice and Palliative Care, 100 Trade Center, Woburn, MA 01801.
