WEYMOUTH - UPDATE Stephen Jon Clements, 75 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday September 23rd, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Stephen was born in Scituate and his parents were Ellsworth Spear of Scituate, and his wife Kathleen (Bremner) Spear of Sharon, Mass. Stephen was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Mary J. (Reddin) Clements. Stephen leaves behind his brothers: James Clements and his wife Nancy, Ellsworth (Todd) Spear and his wife Sally and his deceased brother Greg (Gig) Clements. He also leaves behind his beloved children: Kerry A. Curtin married to Scott Curtin of Athol, Stephen J. Clements Jr. married to Sarah Clements of South Weymouth, Tighe J. Clements married to Lori Clements of Braintree and Owen N. Clements of Weymouth. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Joshua, Patrick,Lilly, Daniel, Clara, Conor, Thomas and Mary. Stephen was a graduate of Scituate High School. Stephen was proud of his service to the community as a retired Boston Firefighter serving from 1971 to 1982, when he was injured as a firefighter and later served as an Arson Investigator for the Boston Fire Department. He also loved to take cruises on the Norwegian Cruise Line all around the world, including to Ireland, where he has family, as well as all over Europe, the Caribbean, Hawaii and Alaska. Visiting hours will be held at the BRAINTREE Peck Funeral Homes, 516 Washington St. Braintree, on Thursday September 27th, from 4 to 8PM. A funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church of the Nativity, 1 Kent Street, Scituate, will be held on Friday, September 28th, 2018, at 12 NOON, with Father Kenneth Cannon. A graveside service will follow at 1:15 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Scituate.
