Shafferd P (Peters) Douglas

BRAINTREE- Shafferd P. Douglas, 88, years of age, passed away at her home on April 16th, 2017. She was the daughter of George Peters and his wife Mary Peters, both from Turkey, in Milton, MA, where she graduated from the Milton High School. She worked for Walter Bakers. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, as well as the Milton Players. For many years, she volunteered for the South Shore Hospital. She also was a member of Belles and Beaus. She volunteered as well for the Braintree Council on Aging. For 30 years, she was a resident of Braintree having formerly lived in Randolph and Milton. She is survived by her sons, Carl Douglas and his wife Ellen of Greenwich, CT and by Gregory S. Douglas and his wife Julie of Abington, MA, as well as by Christian Douglas and his wife Mary of Milton, MA. She is also survived by her daughter Candice “Candy” Douglas of Abington, MA. She also leaves behind her sister, Eleanor Tamburro of Belmont, MA. She leaves behind, seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will begin at 10 A.M. at the Russell-Mortimer N. Peck Funeral Chapels in Braintree at 516 Washington Street on Saturday, April 22nd. The Funeral prayer service will begin at 11:00 AM with Father Mulvey of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow at 11:45 A.M. at the Blue Hills Cemetery on West Street in Braintree. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore at 30 Reservoir Park Drive Rockland, MA 02370.
