Robert A. Rupprecht Jr., age 70 of Braintree passed away peacefully on August 11, surrounded by his loving family, after a long courageous fight with cancer.
Bob was born June 21, 1949 in Brighton, MA to the late Robert A. Rupprecht and Louise (Duefield) Rupprecht. He spent his early years in Germantown, and moved to Braintree in 1960, attending Braintree Public Schools. Electronics captured his interest in the early days of home computers. He was an electronics test technician at Hazeltine Corporation. In 1994 he began work at Massa Products Corporation in Hingham as IT manager for twenty-five years. He was also assistant harbormaster in Weymouth for fifteen years. He loved working on the boat, making friends on the river, while keeping boaters safe, sharing construction details with Weymouth and Quincy harbormasters and police officers during construction of the new Fore River Bridge.
Bob enjoyed trap shooting, belonged to two rifle clubs, and shared his love for the sport with his daughters and grandchildren. He was also an amateur radio operator; as a ham he operated under the call signs, KA1I and W1DD, communicating with people around the world.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Patti (McCormick) his mother Louise Rupprecht, , his daughters, Melissa Rupprecht and her wife Heather Angus, of Pelham, NH, Caitlyn Rupprecht and her husband Matt Quigley, of Braintree, his grandchildren, Samantha Quigley and Cameron Quigley. Also survived by sister Roxanne (Rupprecht) Reardon, of Wareham, Cheryl (Rupprecht) Barnes, of Weymouth and Robin (Rupprecht) Richard, of Tiverton, R.I. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
