BRAINTREE-   Robert J. Cleary, Jr. 59 of Braintree passed away at Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton on Friday August 4, 2017 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Robert was born in Boston and raised in Dorchester. He was a 1975 graduate of The Boston Trade School in Boston. Robert had been employed by the Massachusetts Restaurant Equipment Co. of Boston as a driver for many years prior to his recent retirement due to his health issues. He loved working with his hands, he was very mechanical and there was not much that he could not fix. He will be best remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Janet F. (Donovan) Cleary of Braintree. He is the devoted father of Christopher J. Cleary and his fiancé Mae Klinger of Belmont and Robert J. Cleary III of Braintree. Robert is the loving brother of Jayne Williams of Braintree and Charles Cleary of St. Cloud, Florida. He is the beloved son of the late Robert J. Cleary and Estelle (Weitz) Cleary currently of St. Cloud, Florida. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Tuesday August 8, 2017 from 4-8 P.M. A Catholic prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday August 9th, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. Burial will be at a later date.
