BRAINTREE – Phillip L. Anderson, passed away on Sunday, July 9th at the Royal Norwell Nursing & Rehabiliation Center LLC, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Barbara M. (Cowie) Anderson, and loving father of Cheryl Pappas and her husband Gregory of Norton, MA and Deborah Anderson of Braintree. He was born in Boston and grew up in Dorchester, and he was the son of the late Anton and Laura Anderson and the brother of the late Robert Anderson. Phillip served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict on the USS Bowfin. Later, he worked for the Boston Globe and was a member of the Boston Mailers Union Local #1 for many years. He also was a member of the American Legion. He loved to read the daily newspaper to keep up with current events. Phillip will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours at the Mortimer N Peck – Russell Peck Funeral Home, at 516 Washington Street in Braintree on Monday, July17th, from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 18th, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. See www.peckservices for directions and information.
