BRAINTREE- Mary Elizabeth (Pezzulo) Purcell, 82 years of age, passed away at the Jordan Hospital on Monday, July 17th 2017. She was born in Boston and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Brookline. She was a teller for the First Federal Savings bank before her retirement in 1960. Mary was the loving mother of Walter H. Purcell married to Linda of Plymouth, Richard D. Purcell of Braintree, Thomas Purcell of Braintree, and Linda Purcell Jordan married to Neal of Carver. She was the sister of Patrick Pezzulo of Quincy. She was also the sister of the late Theresa McCarthy and the late James Pezzulo. Mary was the caring and devoted grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Friday, July 21st from 3-7pm. There will be a Funeral Service on Saturday, July 22nd at the Central Baptist Church, 65 Washington Street, Quincy at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Braintree Cemetery. Memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be sent to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Development Office, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
