Marjorie Grace (Helgren) Overell, 93, passed away at the Hancock Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday October 17, 2017. Marjorie was born in Hartford, CT to Oliver Alfred Helgren and Mildred (Gowdy) Helgren. She was raised in Quincy and was a 1941 graduate of Quincy High School. She later moved to California with her first husband, the late Darwin S. Wilder, where she spent the next 50 years. Marjorie worked as an administrative assistant for the Joy Company and the Carnation Milk Company. She also worked for the Aetna Insurance Company of Boston. Marjorie was also very proud to be an Avon Lady for 38 years. In 1961 She married Harold (Hal) Overell with whom she spent many loving years until his passing in 1999. She was the loving mother of two sons, Gary S. Wilder of Paradise, CA and the late Bruce A. Wilder. She is survived by her son Gary and his wife Clarisse of Paradise, CA, as well as her daughter in law Debra Wilder of Kansas. She was the loving grandmother of Emily, Sarah, Arron, Nicholas, and Eric. Marjorie was the devoted sister of Olive M. (Helgren) Shattuck of Quincy, formerly of Braintree, as well as four nieces, Susan, Gayle, Donna, Heather, and their husbands. There will be a memorial service for Marjorie at the South Congregational Church, 1075 Washington St., Braintree, MA on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the Hancock Park Adult Day Health Program, 164 Parkingway, Quincy, MA 02169. Checks may be made payable to "ADH or Donna O'Connell". Arrangements are by the Peck Funeral Home of Braintree.
