Marc Richard Pessa

Hanover- Marc Richard Pessa, age 59, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 30 2018 with his wife and four children by his side. Marc was born in Braintree and grew up developing a passion for adventure and learning. A curious soul with an obvious talent for engineering, he was truly a jack-of-all-trades, a magician of the material world, with tricks ranging from gardening to mechanics, construction to cooking, music, and so on. He was a man who's work was fueled by passion, and he was passionate about helping and connecting with people. There was no 'volunteer work' on his resume- volunteering was his way of life. He loved to help people and was oh so often the every day hero who got your car running, fixed your computer, pumped water out of your basement, or optimized the dynamic energy flow of your home generator during the onset of a "Nor'Easter". Marc had the heart and mind to care about 'the little things'. His dedication to his children was relentless. Rather than a Broadway show, Marc preferred Giovanna's dance recitals, or Greg's band performances. Rather than a Boston Bruin's or Celtics game, Marc wanted tickets to see Joey play hockey or Dan play basketball. Marc loved working, and he loved his family. When he as feeling happy he would spontaneously grab his old mellophone, from his days in drum and bugle corps, and start playing a tune for the whole neighborhood to hear. When he wanted to relax, he loved watching the Patriots, reading about science and history, and exploring the Boston Harbor Islands. Wistfully, Marc's family will account their adventures boating from one island to the next, finding hidden places that felt like a whole new world, camping and playing in nature, and at times getting caught in storms. There was something special about Marc; he had a certain understanding and intuitive way of navigating in life. Marc is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, his four children, Dan, Joe, Greg, and Giovanna, his two sisters, Michele and Valerie, Valerie's husband Bob, his nieces Jess and Nikki, his mother, Marie, German Shepherd, Maya, and his late father, Arthur Pessa.  Please, join us in celebrating his life, at the Peck Funeral Homes, in Braintree, at 516 Washington Street, on Sunday, June 3rd, 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.  A Funeral Mass will be held for Marc at St. Mary's Parish in Hanover, on Monday, June 4th at 10:00 a.m. For charitable donations in Marc's memory please donate to: https://lifeteensmash.com/ and to: https://seasidelifeteen.org.
