Bean and his wife Janice of Barnard, VT, Marion (Bean) and her husband Ralph Rose of Sandwich, and Raymond M. Bean Jr. and his wife Elaine of Scituate. Mabel was blessed with five grandchildren, Ralph, Jr. and his wife Stephanie Rose of Pembroke, Elizabeth and her husband Raymond Thompson, Jr. of Swanzey, NH. Kimberly and Danielle Bean of Vermont and Michael Bean of Weymouth. Mabel is the Great-Grandmother of   Jessica and Timothy Rose, Carl and John Thompson, Tyler Bean and Hannah Watson. Mabel volunteered at South Shore Hospital for 22 years and worked at South Shore Orthopedics for 32 years before retiring at age 85 years old. Mabel was well known for her “Sunshine” work! She sent out hundreds of cards and letters each year to bring Sunshine to her friends, family and anyone she thought could use encouragement. Even in the nursing home she sent out cards until she could write no more. Mabel worked for years on her “Blanket Fund” project. She accepted monetary gifts and also collected soda bottles to exchange for money for her project. In the last two years Mabel donated $2,332.00 to the Church World Service Blanket Fund. These blankets are used when disasters hit around the world. This program tells people in crisis “you are not alone, someone cares”. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N.
