BRAINTREE – Joseph F. Naughton, 85, passed away after a brief illness on Monday, March 11th, 2019.  He was the beloved husband of Claire (Thibedeau) Naughton.  He was the son of the late Patrick J. Naughton and his wife, the late Mary (Clancy) Naughton. Joseph graduated from Cathedral High School in the South End of Boston. He was a radio mechanic for the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He started as a Private E-1 and completed his service as a Corporal.  Later, until his retirement around 1997, he was an equipment installer for New England Telephone, NYNEX and Verizon for 45 years. He leaves behind his beloved sons, Gerard Naughton and his wife Melanie, of Braintree, David Naughton and his wife Lesa, of Harrisburg, N. Carolina, Peter Naughton of Braintree, and Matthew Naughton and his wife Tiffany of Dunstable, MA. He also leaves behind his beloved daughters, Jacqueline Kutschenko and her husband Jacob of Huntersville, N. Carolina, Ellen Naughton of Braintree, and Kathryn Roberts and her husband, Kevin, of Sharon, S. Carolina. Joseph leaves behind his sister, Mary Hunter and her husband David, of Quincy, MA.  Joseph also leaves behind his sixteen adoring grandchildren.  Joseph enjoyed Braintree High School sports and watching Boston Sports teams; especially the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.  Joseph was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America for 40 years; and enjoyed every minute of it.  He was a kind, loving husband, father, and a great role model.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and was a great father in-law.  Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, March 15th, 2019 at the Braintree Peck Funeral Homes, 516 Washington St. Braintree.  On Saturday, March 16th, there will be a gathering at the funeral home at 9 AM leaving in procession for a 10 AM Mass at St. Clare’s Church at 1244 Liberty St. Braintree, followed by a graveside service at the Braintree Cemetery on Plain St. in Braintree.  Donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to Boy Scout Troop #19, c/o St. Thomas More Church, 9 Hawthorn Rd., Braintree, MA 02184.
